Terms of use

Last updated October 16, 2026

Using dipperfield.com, or creating a Dipperfield account, means you agree to these terms. If you do not, please do not use Dipperfield.

1. What Dipperfield is

Dipperfield is a retirement withdrawal planner on the web. From the balances, income and targets you enter, it computes how much to take from each account this year, Roth conversions, and the tax that follows. Every figure traces back to your inputs and to a dated public table, and you can open how each one was computed.

2. Not advice

  • Dipperfield is calculation software. It shows what the published rules give for the inputs you enter, not what you should do.
  • It is not tax, legal or investment advice. It recommends no security, fund or adviser, and it manages no money.
  • Results depend on your inputs and on the tables for the tax year shown. Brackets for a year not yet published are not predicted; IRMAA lines for later years are estimates from the latest published brackets and are labeled as such.

3. Who sells what

We make Dipperfield, run the service and are the merchant for the subscription. Stripe Checkout takes the payment.

4. Your license

You may use Dipperfield for your own household's planning. The license is personal and non-transferable; we keep every intellectual-property right in the service. You must not resell access, share one account between households, scrape or overload the service, or get around the subscription check. You must not use Dipperfield to break the law.

5. Your data

  • Your inputs and plans stay yours. We claim no rights in them.
  • We cannot recover a saved plan if you lose its passphrase. An export is still encrypted with it, so keep the passphrase somewhere safe.
  • What we hold and for how long is in the privacy policy.

6. Paying

  • Free, with no account: the calculator pages, the planner's single-year run in your browser, and export and import of your inputs as a JSON file.
  • The subscription adds saving encrypted plans to your account on any device, the conversion path, the year-end check, plan history and a year-end summary for your accountant.
  • The subscription costs $129.00 a year. There is no monthly plan and no trial. New subscribers pay the price shown at checkout. Sales tax, where it applies, is added at checkout.
  • It renews automatically every year until you cancel. While your subscription continues, its renewal price stays the same.
  • We email you 14 days before each renewal. Stripe emails a receipt for every charge.
  • Cancel in one click on the account page. An active subscription then ends at the close of the paid year and is not charged again. If a renewal payment has failed, canceling ends the subscription at once and voids the unpaid renewal invoice.
  • Refunds follow the refund policy.
  • When a subscription ends, your saved plans stay readable, exportable, printable as the accountant summary and deletable. Saving, the conversion path and the year-end check stop, and the free planner keeps working.

7. Changes and availability

We update the tax tables after the agencies publish new figures, and we change features between releases. We do not promise that Dipperfield is free of defects or always available.

8. Ending

You can stop using Dipperfield at any time and delete your account. We can suspend or end an account for a serious breach of these terms, non-payment, or a security or legal risk, with notice where we reasonably can.

9. Warranty

Dipperfield is provided as is. A result is only as correct as the inputs and the published tables behind it. Where the law gives you a warranty we cannot exclude, that warranty stands.

10. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for taxes, penalties or investment results that follow a decision you made. Our total liability for anything connected to Dipperfield is limited to what you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not let us limit.

11. Law and disputes

These terms follow the law of the State of Wyoming, United States. If you are a consumer, the mandatory protections and courts of the place where you live still apply. Write to us first; most problems are settled by email.

12. Changes to these terms

We email account holders about a material change before it takes effect. If one clause cannot be enforced, the rest stand.
